    Right off the bat, let me just say that I am by no means an expert on shopping sustainably. I honestly think anyone that tells you that they are an expert in this field is either lying or not paying attention.

    It’s a new year, and with that ushers in all the latest trend forecasts. I typically try to approach these forecasts that are often meant for traditional fashion retailers (aka fast fashion) with a grain of salt and the knowledge that most of these trends can easily be found in the thrift store.

    Knick knacks, tchotchkes, brick-a-brack. Whatever term you use to define them, you know what they are and you know exactly where to find them at the thrift store. Knick knacks have traditionally gotten a bad rep for being "dust collectors", "clutter", or in some harsher cases, straight up "junk".

    File this under things I think about too much.... what is the difference between the terms "vintage" and "thrifted" when it comes to style? I used to think there was a definitive difference between the two styles, but as the acceptance of shopping secondhand has continued to grow over the last decade, I think these terms have become somewhat blurred and, even, interchangeable.
